Aviators came back with vengeance 2 years ago, sales were off the scale last year, and will be extremely popular this summer! However this summer will be marked by the return of the other great Ray Ban classic: The Wayfarer! Designed in 1952, Wayfarers were not only a new style, but also the first plastic sunglasses! They were worn by Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, John Lennon and many other stars, particularly in the world of music. And as you’re a star (in your own bathroom), you can wear Wayfarers too!
Wayfarer sunglasses are retro style sunglasses that feature a slight wrap and angular eye shape. They were originally marketed for pilots with advertising targeted at men, but they became very popular among females. Wayfarer sunglasses gained popularity in the 1960’s when Audrey Hepburn wore them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. They became even more popular in the 1980’s when Tom Cruise wore them in Risky Business. They are also popular among celebrities such as Madonna and Jack Nicholson. Wayfarers are sometimes said to be the best-selling design of sunglasses in history.
Wayfarers give the high quality look like Ray-Bans without the expensive price. They are made from better quality materials than other cheap sunglasses and can handle wear and tear.
(Your talent might not have been recognised yet in which case you can find a way to adopt the Wayfarer style for a bit less below
